After another job interview yesterday, I have a couple insights to share:
1. Questions like "What are the top 3 most inspiring moments of your life?" and "What do you hope to be remembered for/as when you die?" are pointless in a job interview. The answers should be recorded in my personal journal for posterity, not my employee file. As my brother put it-- I am a candidate for a job, not Miss America.
Tip: Ask me about skills I possess that are required to perform the job well and past experiences that highlight these skills.
2. When it comes to salary, don't ever ask the person being interviewed the minimum pay they could survive on. It screams Desperate! and Cheapskate! at the same time.
Tip: If you have one specific amount you would like to pay for the open position, state it outright in your job posting. "Pay depending on experience" implies that you are willing to pay for experience.

TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! errrr
Those are ridiculous and terrible, in that order. The company that asks how much you could survive on? They're totally going to fold in the next few months.
What did you say to those questions?
Sounds like that company needs to hire an I/O psychologist. I might know one (or 10). Love you, smart thing.
